Thomas Henry Fox was born in Cape Town on 26.12.1874. He was already in the employ of the Post Office in 1903 and was a logical fit for the South African Telegraph & Postal Corps who served in German South West Africa. He disembarked at Luderitzbucht for that campaign and was promoted Corporal on 5.10.1914 being promoted to Sergeant the next day. He served in that capacity until his discharge on 24.8.1915 - taking no further part in the war. 

He passed away at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town at the age of 82 on 21.12.1957. He was a Retired Postmaster.
