Pte. Charles William Pharo. South Africa Service Corps M.B.Train. From Woodstock, Cape Town. Embarked aboard SS "Shonga" for German South West Africa on 16.3.1915 where he served with the Northern Force - both with the 1st Mounted Brigade Train and 1st S.A. Infantry Bde. (South Africa Railways Company.) He was discharged at Potchefstroom on 19.1.1919.
Pharo passed away in the Victoria Hospital, Wynberg on 23.12.1955 and was a Retired Carpenter with the South Africa Railways.
