7007 Pte. J. WILLENBURG, CAPE CORPS. Jacob Willenburg, aka William Jacobus Willenberg, was born in Cape Town in 1897. He served in German East Africa/Nyasaland with the Cape Corps.
A Baker's Boy on attestation, Willenburg was a Cape Coloured who enlisted on 23.4.1917 for service in German East Africa and Nyasaland. He contracted Malaria whilst in the theatre of war and was repatriated to South Africa where he was discharged on 31.12.1918
He was a 27 year old Packer when he married in 1925. He passed away on 28.7.1960.
