5148 PTE.J.K.GRANT. GORDONS. John King Grant served with the 4th Bn. Gordons in France. The 1/4th Battalion with whom he served were mustered at Woolmanhill in Aberdeen in Auugust 1914, as part of the Gordon Brigade in the Highland Division. They moved to Bedford and on 20 February 1915 left the Division and landed at Le Havre, France, a week later joining the 8th Brigade in 3rd Division at La Clytte. On 10 October 1915 : transferred to 76th Brigade in same Division and on 23 February 1916, transferred to 154th Brigade in 51st (Highland) Division. Late in 1916, they were absorbed into the Shetland Companies.
