Gwladus Mary Jenkins was born in Leicester on 7 May 1914. She was admitted as a St John Ambulance Serving Sister in July 1961. The Leicester Evening Mail of 18 July 1961 carried an article wherein Jenkins and some of her colleagues went to London to receive the award from Lord Wakehurst.
Jenkins, who joined as a Cadet over 30 years ago, was quoted as saying, "I always wanted to join as soon as ever I was old enough". Now she is a Nursing Member with the Leicester Division.
According to the 1939 Register she was a Bath Attendant at the EDD Department and was living at 92 Dulverton Road, Leicester and was ARP First Aid with S.J.A.B.
She passed away in 1970
