1863131 C.H.COLE enlisted at the age of 15 as an Electrician with the Royal Engineers on 1.5.1923 for 12 years service. He saw action in Malaya, earning the GSM with Malaya clasp (For service in Malaya and Singapore against communist guerrilla forces for which the qualifying dates for service were between 16 June 1948 and 31 July 1960)
He was also awarded the Regular Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in 1943 in the rank of Warrant Officer 2nd Class.
