K3761 H.WOODCOCK, L.STO.R.N. Harry Woodcock, a Lace Maker, was born in Nottingham on 7.4.1889. He was admitted to the R.N. on 9.8.1909 and was discharged on 6.9.1921 as a Stoker Petty Officer. Most of his WWI service was aboard SS Zealandia, nicknamed "Z" (or "Zed"), she was an Australian cargo and passenger steamship. She served as a troopship in both World War I and World War II.
He joined the Royal Fleet Reserve on 7.9.1921 and was awarded the R.F.R. Long Service Medal.
According to the 1939 Register he was a Shopkeeper Petrol Cycle Hardware Dealer. His address was Oaklands Garage, Edlington Lane, Doncaster. He was unmarried. He earned the Special Constabulary Medal (GVI). It is not known when he earned the Defence Medal that is mounted with the group.
