Archibald Tulloch Smith was born in Scotland on 13.11.1918 He served extensively in WWII with the Merchant Navy seeing action in the Atlantic and Mediterranean theatres of the war.
Smith appears on the roll for the award of the 1953 Coronation Medal as a Leading Stoker and was awarded the British Empire Medal in 1960 (Gazette page 4003 11 June 1960) as a Donkeyman Greaser aboard the SS Egidia, a ship of the Anchor Line Limited.
Sold with a framed certificate from Buckingham Palace of the award of the 1953 Coronation Medal and the original BEM case of issue.
