Robert Leak was born in Preston, Lancashire in 1881 He served with the 18/Hussars entering France on 16.9.1914 and earning the Mons Star. He transferred to the 7th Bn MGC on 16.8.1916 and later saw service in the Italian Campaign where he was awarded the Military Medal in May 1919 (LG 14 May 1919) He was discharged the same month.
The 1939 Register has him living at 330 North Road, Preston with the occupation of Ribble Bus Cleaner. He passed away in Preston in 1960.
