31491 W/O Instructor Walter Butler Briggs Army Education Corps HQ Razmak Bde. Comm 20.9.43 Capt 1.9.47. Retired 1.9.57. He was stationed at Razmak Brigade HQ from 1.12.1939 until 12.10.1940 - The Razmak Brigade was an Infantry formation of the Indian Army during World War II. It was in existence in September 1939, for service on the North West Frontier. It was normal practice for newly formed battalions to be posted to the North West Frontier for service before being sent to Africa, Burma or Italy.

Briggs went on to serve in Burma before retiring to the UK. He passed away in York in 1968.
