John Victor Done enlisted with the Royal Corps of Signals seeing service in Waziristan in India attached to the Waziristan District Signals. He transferred to the Indian Navy to help with its formation. He was a Lt Commander, Royal Navy (according to a newspaper report.
According to the 1939 Register he was living 372 Alum Rock Road, Birmingham and was an Insurance Agent.
After the war he settled in England and worked for the Welfare Department.
He passed away at the age of 82 in February 1994
