Arthur Henry Dunnington was born in Castle Eden, Durham in 1894. Having attested with the RA he saw service in France from 11.6.1915 and was 2 X Wounded in Action - the first was on 16.11.1917 and again on 2.5.1918. Post-war he re-attested with the RA at Bangalore on 6.3.1919 and re-engaged to serve 21 years with the Colours. He was awarded the LSGCM in 1934. Rising to the rank of Regimental Sergeant Major he re-attested for service in WWII, serving with the Coast Artillery and Searchlight Regiment. He was eventually discharged as having reached the age limit
The 1939 Register has him living at 112 Sandown Road, Sandown-Shanklin where he is recorded as being "Army 1039978".
He died on 15 March 1965.
Sold with some research. Medals are in good condition unless otherwise indicated - the "2" in the number on the British War Medal has been rubbed off through contact with other medals.
