Thomas Brannan was born in Dundee, Scotland in about 1888. He was a Mill Worker when he first enlisted with the 3rd Black Watch on 5 December 1905 with no. 9997. He was discharged 90 days later, having misrepresented his age but rejoined and was with his regiment in India in 1911. At the outbreak of the Great War he He initially enlisted with the 2nd Battalion, Black Watch and saw service with them in France from 12 October 1914. He was reported Wounded in Action on 8 October 1915. He later served with no. 3302383.

He was awarded the Long Service & Good Conduct Medal on 8 June 1927. His records indicate that he applied for replacement of his lost 1914 Star on 6 March 1927.

Medals are in good condition unless otherwise indicated. Sold with some research.
