Awarded to native troops who toop part in the war of 1824-26, this medal was authorised and paid for by the HEIC and depicts on the obverse the Burmese elephant kneeling in submission to the British Lion.
The reverse features a superb scene of the assault on Rangoon by the Irrawaddy Flotilla.
Recipients of this also received the Army of India Medal with clasp Ava.
