Claude Hubert Wild was born in Harwich, Essex in 1903. He served in the Navy in WWII and was awarded the British Empire Medal in the Birthday Honours LG of 3.6.1966 - whilst serving as Chief Steward aboard the M.V. Corsea - a bulk coal carrier which was built in 1957 expressly for the purpose of carrying coal to power plants in the UK.
He was awarded the 1953 Coronation Medal as Chief Steward whilst living at Park Place West in Sunderland.
He died in Sunderland in October 1992.
Medals are in good condition unless indicated otherwise. Sold together with copied research including the letter from 10 Downing Street dated June 7, 1966 and a small Redding Tea Co. card of the MV "Corsea"
