George Robertson Fyffe was born in Perthshire, Scotland in 1870. He made the move to London where he enlisted with the City of London Police, serving with them from at least 1897 until 1911 which earned him the Queen Victoria 1897 Jubilee Medal, Edward VII Coronation Medal and the George V Coronation medal in 1911 - at which time he was living at 67 Albion Grove, Barnsbury, Islington North.

He appears to have parted company with the City of London Police prior to WWI as he served with the RASC with no. M2 148583 earning the British War and Victory Medals which are not with the group.

At the time of the 1921 census he had secured employment with the Bank of England at their Printing Works as a Watchman, something he was ideally suited for. He was still employed there in 1939 where he was living at 15 Kelvin Avenue, Haringey, Southgate.

He passed away in Edmonton, London in 1950.
