Iraq Medal (25173245 TPR D C JACKSON QDG) - with original box of issue and accompanied by two cased Cadet Cambrian Patrol Competition Silver Jubilee Medallions.

David Craig Jackson was born in Coventry in 1986. He attested for service with the Queens Dragoon Guards on his 17th birthday in 2003 and was deployed operationally on two tours to Iraq - Op Telic 5 and Op Telic 8.

Op Telic 5 was the fifth major roulement of British Armed Forces deployed to Iraq, running from November 2004 to April 2005. It involved approximately 8,000 UK troops and was headquartered at the Multi-National Division (South East) in Basra, under the command of Major General Jonathan Shaw. Jackson remembers being deployed as convoy escort up to the Base in Basrah and working alongside the Australian forces at the time.

In about 2005 he was deployed to Canada to assist with what was known as Winter Maintenance during exercises there.

His second tour of duty was Op Telic 8 - this was the codename for the UK military's eighth deployment to Iraq, running from May to October 2006. Commanded by Major General Richard Shirreff, the deployment comprised roughly 7,000 troops who provided security, training, and stability operations in the volatile Multi-National Division (South East) sector.

He took his discharge after 5 years service.
