Victory Medal (S-355611 PTE. J. FRANCIS. A.S.C.)
Joseph Francis was 43 years old when he attested for service with the Army Service Corps on 5 June 1917. He was born in West Bromwich on 25 October 1875 and joined up at Smethwick. He saw service in France and Mesopotamia.
A Medical Board convened at Karachi (in what is now Pakistan) in February 1919 found that he "felt exhausted by carrying pack and bedding. Reported sick but was not sent to hospital."
Francis was discharged in 1919 - his address was 32 Salisbury Road, West Bromwich.
Medal is in good condition unless indicated otherwise. Sold with some research. Also entitled to British War Medal which is not included.
