Victory Medal (50 A-SJT. W. B. SHAW. R.A.M.C.)
William Barnett Shaw was born in London in 1884. He served in 61st Sanitary Section of the RAMC in WWI from 1 June 1915 and wad posted to France on 24 May 1916. Other than a return to England on leave, he was on the Western Front until 22 May 1919 and was discharged from the service on 31 March 1920. He was living in Stoke Newington when he enlisted.
His medals were initially returned unclaimed but, at this request, posted out to him to 49 Ramux Drive, Westcliff-on-Sea on 12 June 1924.
Shaw passed away in Weymouth, Dorset and was cremated on 29 March 1969.
Medal is in good condition unless indicated otherwise. Sold with some research. Also awarded a British War Medal which is not included.
