10260 William McKinley was a Drummer 1st Loyal North Lancs. POW in Germany Address Willow Grove, Fleetwood Road, Thornton-Le-Fylde. Having entered France on 12.8.1914 he was taken Prisoner of War in one of the early engagements where his regiment lost heavily in battle. He was repatriated (released POW) to England in 1919.
According to the 1939 Register he was living at 1 Chrystal Road (next door to 57 Gamble Road, in Thornton-Le-Fylde and was a Process Worker at a Chemical Works. (57 Gamble Road was the address provided on his Medical Index Card)
