Rear Admiral John Dent Royal Navy was born in 1899 in Sedbergh, Yorkshire. A career Naval officer, he was awarded the OBE in 1941 which was followed by the CB in 1956.

1953 Coronation awarded as Captain (S) Royal Navy.
He died in Sway Hampshire in 1973.
