BLACK PRINCE.) - including the recipients dog tag and outer envelope wherein his medals were awarded addressed to Mr H.S. Harvey, 27 Westwood Road, Hilsea, Portsmouth.
Harry Sidney Harvey was born in St Germans, Cornwall in 1910. He joined the Royal Navy in 1926. During WWII he was a Chief Engine Room Artificer aboard HMS Clare in the hazardous operations in which the Allied Forces were landed in North Africa for which he was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal in the LG of 12 March 1943.
He was awarded the Navy Long Service & Good Conduct Medal on 13 April 1944 and invalided out of the service on 7 May 1948.
He died in Portsmouth in 1971
