Charles George Buckland was born in Hereford in 1896. He served with the 8th Royal Scot Fusiliers in WWI being sent to France on 20.9.1915. He was reported WIA on 23.10.1918. In later life he was a Railway Porter (1921) with the Great Western Railways. A keen St John Ambulance man, he was awarded their service medal in 1932 and was invested as a Serving Brother, appearing in the LG 7 January 1955.
According to the 1939 Register Buckland was a Railway Signalman living at 5 Council House, Station Road, Tiverton, Devon.
