Frank Robert Bernard Howard Kennedy, M.B.E., L.R.C.S., L.R.C.P., J.P. was born in 1954. Born 6.8.1905. Ryde, Isle of Wight. A Medical Doctor. Also M.O. for Men's and Women's Red Cross detachments at Wootton and Group Scout Leader, Isle of Wight Boy Scouts according to the 1939 Register. 

Kennedy was made a Knight of the Order of St John, Gazetted on 12.1.1965. He served as a Surgeon to the Merchant Navy as per his C.R. 1 card dated 21.5.1931 and was a Justice of the Peace for Southampton. He was commissioned as a Captain in the R.A.M.C. in the L.G. of 1.2.1945.

The recommendation for his M.B.E., dated 6.9.1944, whilst attached to the 104 Corps Reception Camp, reads as follows:

"Ever since this officer has landed he has shown the greatest devotion to duty and has gained the confidence of all those he has come in contact with, especially in difficult times at OUISTREHAM where he showed great coolness in dealing with casualties. The attached letter from the Mayor of CRESSERONS shows clearly the estimation in which he is held by the French to whom he has given such assistance. He is strongly recommended for an M.B.E."

He passed away on 9.4.1988 on the Isle of Wight.
