Victory Medal (2348 PTE. H. HOLMES. R.A.M.C.)

Herbert George Holmes was born in Bristol in 1897. He was living at 4 Priory Road, Knowle, Bristol when he attested for service in WWI with the Royal Army Medical Corps on 20 January 1915. He was posted to the 3rd South Midland Field Ambulance on enlistment.

Having been returned to England, he passed away at 2nd London General Hospital on 3 August 1917. The official report read, "Died of Acute Septic Tonsilitis, abscesses in Lungs, Broncho Pneumonia and Septicaemia. Oddly, his MIC states that he was disembodied on 1 March 1919 - although he was long dead by that date.

Medal is in good condition unless otherwise indicated. Also entitled to a 1914-15 Star and British War Medal which are not included.
