Defence Medal; Fire Long Service & Good Conduct Medal EIIR (SUB. OFF. STANLEY A EDWARDS) - together with uniform buttons, a badge and rank insignia from the Gloucestershire Fire Brigade
Sub Officer Stanley Arthur Edwards was from Cirencester, Gloucestershire. Born on 17 January 1902, he was, according to an article in the Cheltenham Chronicle of 29 February 1936, appointed to repalce Fireman Sparrow, "On the recommendation of the Chief Officer of the Fire Brigade (Captain H. Fletcher) it was decided to appoint Stanley A. Edwards of Midland Road, Cirencester, to fill the vacancy."
According to the 1939 Register, he was a Builder's Labourer, living at 68 Midland Road, Cirencester. He was also a Fireman with the Cirencester U.D.C.
He died in April 1980.
