Roy Aston was born in Staffordshire on 22 August 1968. He enlisted with 1 Para Battalion in 1986, serving with 525 Platoon, before transferring to 3 Para. He served in Northern Ireland and elsewhere. He was in Iraq but was there as a Security Consultant serving in a civilian capacity and thus not eligible for the medal.
He passed away at the age of 56 on 27 October 2024.
Both medals have a test mark on the rim otherwise condition is good to very fine (GVF).
