John Basil Joseph Mulvey (known as John Joseph Mulvey) was born on 4 August 1920. He lived in the Glasgow area of Scotland and served with the Highland Light Infantry in WWII. Commissioned in 1943 he ended the war as a Captain.
He served with the 1st Battalion, HLI in Palestine and was in the operational area between 31 October 1945 and 9 April 1946 making him eligible for the GSM. He qualified as a Medical Doctor in 1951 and continued to serve with the Royal Army Medical Corps, retiring as a Lt Colonel on 29 May 1967.
His WWII medals were posted to him on 22 September 1948 to 105 Hyndland Road, Glasgow, W.2.
