"Dvr. A. Bathurst has been my driver during the last three months at Headquarters, Eastern Command. Before this, he was for some months with my predecessor, General Sir Alan Cunningham, the present High Commissioner of Palestine.
Before this he had considerable experience in driving for a Divisional Headquarters in the Middle East and in Italy. He is a good driver, experienced and careful. He is a very nice man to deal with, very reliable and hard-working. He has good manners and he looks after his cars well.
He has had an excellent war record, and I hope that he will obtain the good job in civil life that he has merited by his good service in the Army."
