Arthur Curtis Gamsby was born in Stockton, Durham on 29 December 1921. He enlisted with the Royal Army Medical Corp as a Nursing Orderly on 15 February 1941 and saw Home Service until being posted to the Middle East on 14 October 1942. He was Wounded in Action there on 9 August 1943 and, having recovered, was posted to Italy with effect from 6 September 1944. He was discharged, after 7 years service on 9 June 1948.

His Testimonial on discharge rated his Military Conduct as Exceptional and had the following to say about him:

"A Medical Orderly who has shown himself to be efficient at his trade and a well disciplined soldier. Is also conversant with the clinical work involved in dealing with the correspondence of two Medical Inspection Rooms. Thoroughly reliable and a keen worker."

Gamsby died in Dunston, Durham in 1995.

Medals are in good condition unless indicated otherwise. Sold with some research along with recipients Certificate of Service.
