Frederick Bradshaw George was born in the Cape Province of South Africa on 13 July 1908. A Painter's Assistant, he attested for service on 7 July 1941 and was posted to the South African Medical Corps. He disembarked at Suez on 20 September 1941 having been posted to the 5th Armoured Car Regiment a few weeks before.
He was most likely in action during the battle of El Alamein in October 1942 where he earned the 8th Army clasp to his Africa Star. He was posted to the 25th Road Construction Company of the South African Engineer's Corp on 5 February 1942 before coming full circle back to the SAMC prior to his discharge on 8 February 1946. His address on enlistment was 2 East Link St, Alicedale Estate, Athlone, Cape Town - which changed to 3 Albert Road, Claremont, Cape Town.
Medals are all in good condition unless otherwise indicated. Sold with some research. Please note that the 8th Army clasp he was awarded is not included.
