David Henry Williams was born on 3 November 1926 and enlisted for service with the Royal Engineers at Portsmouth on 20 December 1944. His Military Conduct was assessed as Very Good and the testimonial written on his behalf described him as, 

"A reliable, hard-working man of average intelligence. He displays initiative and confidence and can be trusted to work without requiring supervision. Quite honest and trustworthy. This man has worked hard and done well in the army."

Williams was transferred to the Army Reserve on 3 November 1952 and discharged on 19 December 1956 after 12 years service. He had active service in the Mediterranean from 4 November 1945 until 10 July 1948 - serving with the 248 Field Park Company, Royal Engineers 

According to the 1939 Register, his family was living at 12 Langdale Avenue, Portsmouth.

He died in Portsmouth on 22 August 1989

Medals are in good condition unless indicated otherwise. Sold with medal roll and original Regular Army Certificate of Service and Soldier's Service and Pay Book, along with a photo of the recipient
