Thomas James Dickson McCracken was born in Londonderry, Northern Ireland on 4 April 1920. He attested for service with the Royal Artillery on 25 May 1939 and saw service in France & Germany in WWII.
He was posted to the 4th Light Anti Aircraft Regiment on 6 February 1942 and to the 54th L.A.A. Regiment on 10 September 1945 - after the cessation of hostilities.
McCracken was placed on the Z Reserve on 6 June 1946. His medals were posted to him on 10 May 1949 to 8 Greenland Street, Belfast, Northern Ireland. He stated that he was a Lance Bombardier with the 59th Anti-Tank Regiment, R.A.
He was awarded the Efficiency Medal with Militia clasp.
