Awarded for operations in the Pacific, Singapore and Malaya between 8th December 1941 and 2nd September 1945. The 1939-45 Star had to be earned first and then one days service would qualify for the award of the star.
Those who subsequently qualified for the Burma Star were awarded the BURMA clasp instead. This is represented by a silver rosette when ribbons alone are worn.
Service personnel who had not qualified for the 1939-45 Star when the war ended and were serving in the area covered by the Pacific Star were awarded this star and not the 1939-1945.
For full details on qualification, download the leaflet on World War Two Stars and Medals from our information section.
