Awarded to the Military General Service Medal 1799-1814.
On 30th January 1809 a British force of approximately 10,000 men under the command of Lt General Beckwith landed on the Caribbean island which was under French control.
Various actions took place until finally the French, who were beseiged at Fort Desaix, surrended on 24th February 1809.
