Clasp - Afghanistan NWF 1919

Awarded for service between 6^th May and 30^th September 1919 in the Third Afghan War under General Sir A.A.Barratt GCB, KCSI, KCVO ADC. It was the first clasp struck only in silver for the India General Service Medals.
This was the first time the Royal Air Force took part in operations in the Indian campaigns.
Captain Henry J.Andrews MBE, Indian Medical Service, was awarded the Victoria cross during this campaign.
