2605 awards of the AFC were made during World War Two with 36 recipients receiving a bar and one individual receiving two bars.

Between 1947 and 1952 411 awards were made of the second type GVI AFC.

This die-struck replica is of the first type awarded between 1936 and 1947.

Bars are indicated by the wearing of a rosette on the ribbon when ribbons alone are worn.
