The qualifying period was 9 years unpaid service with over 50 duties per year, war service with a minimum of 50 duties per year counted triple. Bars lettered "LONG SERVICE" with year are awarded for additional 10 year periods. Current second award clasps are lettered simply "LONG SERVICE"
