Frank Odds was born in Frinsbury, Kent on 6 April 1870 (some records suggest 1873). He joined the Royal Navy on 16 July 1889 and served aboard various vessels and was present aboard Angler during the Messina Earthquake disaster of 1908 (medal). He earned his LSGCM aboard HMS Rosario and was transferred to the Royal Fleet Reserve on 22 July 1911. He died soon after in 1913.
