Edward Thomas Jones was born in 1918. He first saw service with the Welsh Guards, earning a shooting medal with them when a Guardsman in 1922. He later transferred to the Royal Artillery and was a Battery Sergeant Major when he was granted an emergency commission in July 1940.
He distinguished himself in the Italian campaign and was Mentioned in Dispatches in the LG of 24 August 1944.
His medals were dispatched to him on 6 August 1953 in the rank of Major.
