Charles Henry Hudson was born in Bridgnorth, Shropshire on 22 March 1879. A School Teacher at Bedford Modern School, he was commissioned from the O.T.C. on 6 December 1910 and was posted to France on 1 May 1915, serving with the 6th Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders.

He was awarded the Military Cross in the London Gazette of 18 September 1918.

Post-war, he tried his hand at business and was a partner in an Estate Agency in Woking but parted company with his associate in 1927.

Hudson was the Chief Officer of the Woking Fire Brigade for many years and was awarded a Bronze Medal for 10 years service (not with the group). According to the 1939 Register he was the Fire Chief and an ARP Officer living at The Rendezvous, Parvis Road, Woking. Earlier that year he had, as at a Woking Council meeting, being involved in a fracas where a local ratepayer and self-styled "peoples champion" had interrupted proceedings by barging into the chamber. Hudson and two other officials forcibly evicted him which led to a charge of assault being laid against him. The case was dismissed with costs when it came before the Court.

He retired to Yarmouth which is where he passed away in 1975.

Medals are in good condition unless otherwise indicated. Sold with some research and his original Commission and other documents, including a framed photo of him in uniform with medals.
