Ribbon bar on a metal carriage to allow it to slide onto stacking ribbon bars. A central slot allows the addition of emblems without having the need to purchase a new ribbon. Until 1916 the ribbon was plain crimson, white edges were added in 1916-17. The ribbon has been woven with three white stripes since August 1917.
