Joseph Lane was born in Tipton, Staffordshire on 9 May 1884. He served with the 7th Bn. Worcester Regiment in WWI and was posted to France on 17 August 1915. He was reported Wounded in Action - multiple Gunshot Wounds on 1 September 1916 - this related to an action on 18 July 1916 when he was admitted to 16 Ambulance Train for treatment. 

According to his Pension Card he was wounded in the Right Arm. The severity of the wounds led to his early discharge on 22 January 1918 at which point he was awarded the Silver War Badge.

According to the 1939 Register he was a General Labourer in an Iron Foundry but was unemployed and living at 5 Howl Place, Tipton - the same address as that used by him in the 1920's.

Medals are all in good condition unless otherwise indicated. Sold with some research.
