John William Warwick was born in Welwyn, Herts on 26 July 1891. He attested for service in WWI with the 6th Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment and was posted to France on 30 July 1915.
Whilst at home on leave, he wed 19 year old Emily Maud Warner at the Parish Church in Tongham, Surrey on 5 February 1916. He was to leave her a widow when he was Killed in Action on 29 April 1917 during the Battle of Arras as his battalion was being relieved from the front line at Greenland Hill - this was 14 months after his nuptials.
He is interred in the Chili Trench Cemetery, Gavrelle.
