General Service Medal clasp Palestine (2876174 FSR. W.G. CHEYNE. R.IR.FUS)
William George Cheyne was born on 1 April 1914 in Barnyards, Turriff, Aberdeenshire. He served with the Royal Irish Fusiliers and was with them in Palestine before WWII. He rose to the rank of Company Sergeant Major/WO Class II and was at home in Scotland when he passed away on 3 March 1946.
He is commemmorated among the War Dead by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and is buried in the Edinburgh (Comely Bank) Cemetery.
