Harry Eddington was born in East Bowling, Bradford on 3 September 1896. He attested for service with the West Riding Royal Field Artillery, Territorial Army at Bradford on 19 May 1911, stating that he had been a member of the Boy's Brigade for over three years and that he was employed as an Iron Moulder. He was posted to No. 4 Battery, 2nd West Riding Bde as a Trumpeter on 5 August 1914.

He was posted to France on 2 July 1915 with the 4th West Riding Battery  and was admitted to No. 3 Field Ambulance suffering with the effects of Gas Poisoning. Evacuated to England on 24 May 1916 he returned to the front on 2 July 1916 and joined 37th Division Ammunition Column, R.A. He was awarded the Military Medal in the London Gazette of 3 June 1916, page 5590 - the first Military Medals to be awarded following the institution of the award.

Returning to England on 23 April 1919, he was disembodied on 26 April with a home address of 14 Ashley Street, East Bowling, Bradford.

The 1939 Register shows him to be living at 83 Hailsworth Road, Sheffield where he was employed as a Co-Op Diary Manager.

He died in Bradford in 1958.

Medal is in good condition unless otherwise indicated. Sold with service papers and other research. Military Medals to the rank of Trumpeter are rare.
