George Deans was a Gamekeeper born on 18 April 1882 in Robertson, Roxburghshire. He attested for service with the Royal Garrison Artillery on 23 November 1915 and was mobilised and posted to Base Details on 26 March 1917. Thereafter he was posted to 9 Siege Battery RA which is where he was stationed when Nephritis occasioned his discharge from the Army on 1 May 1918.
He was awarded Silver War Badge no. 407073. His address was Invernay Cottage, Forgardenny, Perth.
He passed away in Perth on 11 April 1963.
