Frederick William Trower was born in Upwell, Cambridgeshire in 1884. He attested for service with the 16th Battallion, Notts & Derby Regiment on 3 May 1915 and was posted to France on 6 March 1916. He was scarcely a month in the field when he was Wounded in Action, on 4 April 1916 - wound sustained from a rocket grenade. He was admitted to a Casualty Clearing Station in 1917 suffering with Trench Feet and was discharged from the army on 19 February 1919.
His address on discharge was 112a Nottingham Road, Ilkeston - the same address as that on the Absent Voters List for 1918. According to the 1939 Register he was living at 2 Brookdale Drive, Sutton-in-Coldfield and was an Agent for the Trust Clothing Supply Company.
He passed away in Wood Green, Middlesex on 18 November 1954.
