Queens South Africa Medal clasps Transvaal,  South Africa 1902 (10237 CPL J. SCOTT. R.A.M.C.)

James Scott was born in Dalston, London in 1873. A Clerk by occupation, he attested for service on 30 October 1893 and, having qualified as an Orderly, was posted to Bermuda on 28 October 1897. He returned to England on 4 October 1901 by which time the Anglo Boer War in South Africa was already 24 months on the go. He was posted to SA on 20 December 1901 and served for 292 days in the Transvaal before being sent home on 8 October 1902.

Scott was mustered in a number of roles - he was an Orderly, a Cook in a Military Hospital (1895) and a qualified Labroratory Attendant (1906). He extended his contract to cover 21 years but was discharged Medically Unfit on 18 August 1907 after 13 years service. 

Medals are in good condition unless indicated otherwise. Sold with medal roll and copy service papers.
