Johannes Carel Louw was born in Nieuwoudtville in the Cape Province of South Africa on 20 July 1919. He attested for service with the Permanent Force on 12 December 1940 and was initially mustered to the Cape Peninsula Artillery and from there to the 18th Heavy Battery, SAA in 1941. He saw service in Italy from 1944 with the 43rd Light Anti Aircraft Regiment, SAAF and was re-mustered from Artillery to Infantry on 31 January 1945. 

While in Cape Town he married Gloria Barrata on 2 July 1941.

Medals are all in good condition unless otherwise indicated. Sold with some research.
